in Magnet

Day 3 Supplementary: ~75 hrs Post-op

I removed my stitches today. Below are a few pictures.

There was a bit of bleeding when the stitches came out (not much), and there were some odd shadows in my skin that I hoped weren’t the magnet showing through. I remain ever paranoid, however unwarranted, that the magnet was nicked when I sutured myself and the parylene is compromised. I don’t think I hit it; the fear is there, though.

As it is in the more critical stages of healing and the body is at the most likely period to decide to reject or hold, as well as coming into the period where oxidization in case of parylene rupture would be apparent, I’m growing a tad more anxious. Of course, I have no reason to be – I’ve taken every precaution, been exceptionally careful in my procedures, and have continued confidence in my research. This whole healing period, though, has me observing carefully and willing everything to go smoothly.

I think I’m going to leave this tegaderm in place until friday morning and not change the dressing in the morning; don’t expect any updates until then.
